My name is Luca Bandieri and I am the founder of “FVF Fuerteventura Fishing“, a registered brand that was born from a passion, sport fishing, which I have cultivated since I was a child.
The sea has always fascinated me, especially the ocean, with its vastness, strength and mysteries.
I had the dream of catching all the fish in the world, I always told my friends and parents at a young age, “sooner or later I will catch them”…

That dream, now that I have grown up, I understand that it is an almost impossible task, but I am still chasing it even though I have caught many fish and I have learned some secrets, but as long as I have strength in my arms I will continue to try to fish “all” of them in their natural environment.
I have always had to deal with water both as a competitive swimmer and as a sport fisherman and I have never strayed from it.
Fishing is a continuous challenge with yourself and with the world around you, if faced correctly and ethically, it is a school of life. It is a set of decisions to be made every time you attach a bait to the rod, you can win or be defeated, a bit like in everyday life.
In my fishing and entrepreneurial past, I have tried to convey to young people what is the true value of sport fishing, catching a fish in its natural environment with many pitfalls and then releasing it into the wild.
I practice “catch and release“, in order to preserve the environment.

But let’s now go into a little detail…
FVF Fuerteventura Fishing, a project that took shape in 2022 following the pandemic but on which I have been working since 2019, organizes extreme fishing trips to the island of Fuerteventura and is mainly based on a technique, inshore spinning.

This technique, aimed at catching predatory fish, involves the use of fishing rods and artificial baits and is practiced from the shore, cliff or beach.
It is certainly one of the queen fishing techniques, it measures the skill of the fisherman and his physical preparation.
Climbing and descending on the rocks at the limit of the extreme with precise casts, ability to use artificial lures by making them swim with various methodologies and fights with fish that are undermined where they live is a real head-to-head comparison.
Accuracy, technique, tenacity, resistance to adverse conditions and sportsmanship are the characteristics that the angler must possess to perform in this fishing technique.
If you could describe the feeling you get facing this discipline, I would say that adrenaline is the master.
You are there alone with your rod and you throw your bait into the immense blue, waiting for something big to attack it, thinking about what beauty of the ocean you could have the pleasure of photographing.
At a certain point you see the water “bursting” and the fight begins with clutch turns.
What a great feeling!
Once this sort of duel ends, the fish is within reach of the camera and after a couple of clicks, it is released into the sea giving it back its freedom.
In my fishing past I have participated in international competitions and won two youth world championships but my spirit is not that of the agonist, it is rather that of the explorer, I look for emotions and above all stories to tell to some younger boy who can learn the true value of sport fishing and respect for the sea.
I am developing, around this project, some collaborations with universities and biology centers, in order to collaborate in the protection and in-depth study of some marine species, as well as involving young students of biology, fishermen too.
What is the typical day of the FVF sport fisherman?!
We leave in the morning, equipped with a backpack containing the equipment, fishing rod, motocross shoes and return in the evening, at nightfall, trying to take advantage of the best hours of the day such as sunrise or sunset, propitious moments for fishing.
Sometimes you are lucky and you fish on sight by observing the surface of the water being able to see some hunting of the predator, other times you make 300 casts in a row without seeing a bite, then suddenly your heart explodes to hundreds of beats!
You never leave at “random”, every day is carefully planned depending on the weather conditions, wind, tides, moons and the fish you are going to look for.
We fishermen all keep a diary, it is a small collector of reasoning and notes, an elaboration that is kept with extreme care and confidentiality.
A sunset or a sunrise over the ocean practicing your greatest passion … What more could you ask for?!
Why Fuerteventura?
Because this island represents in my head a magical place that remained in my heart a few years ago when I came for the first time, still to be discovered in some ways, with fantastic landscapes, cliffs overlooking the blue and kilometer-long beaches with volcanoes behind.
It is not an easy spot for spin fishing.
Those who love to confront themselves and adventure, however, will always choose locations like this.
The harmony and peace of some unspoiled places that are located in Fuerteventura blend perfectly with the most dreamy part of some fishermen.
Sometimes I happen to sit on a rock looking at the sea for many minutes before starting a session, as if we were confessing secrets to each other.
I am sure that someone will “escape” a smile reading these last words.
In conclusion, my greatest wish with this activity is to be able to convey emotions through fully immersive sport fishing tours, to teach young people that the sea must be respected, because it will always give us something back and at the same time we will help the planet to withstand the “stress” of civilization.
The sport and ethical fisherman is the one who first deals with social issues, cleaning the seas, removing garbage, plastic, remains of material thrown away by uncivilized people.
Sport fishing is a fantastic discipline, it is a training ground for life.
